This is my third "Le Mont St. Lincoln" concoction, a composite of scenes from around town put together in the style of Mont St. Michel in northern France. This is going to be my entry in the latest Dgrin Sharpshooter's Challenge "Country Spirit", which is trying to capture something of the spirit of our Country/Place in one photo. The biggest problem I have with this, apart from putting it together in the first place of course, is thinking of a title. Titles are so critical in competitions, and they mean different things to different people, which then colours how they view the image.
The idea I'm trying to get across is that we live with such a rich past every minute of every day, it is all around us. But I don't want to give the impression of living IN the past, because Lincoln is also a rich and vibrant modern city.
