Well I finally got to photograph the last two surviving Lancaster bombers together over Lincoln, and to add to the occasion the last surviving Vulcan led the formation. They were joined by a Hawk trainer on the left here. This is actually a composite, I took the wide shot of the city under that dramatic sky, and then switched to a longer lens to get closer shots of the aircraft. As it happens the formation was quite wide and this is a realistic representation of what we saw. The Canadian Lancaster "Vera" is on the right as you look, and I'm hoping to photograph them together again before she returns across the Atlantic in September.
