johnloguk > 28.11.09 - The Golden Tree

This is a panoramic crop of a shot taken this morning on a short walk just outside town. The light was stunning, bright foreground and big dark sky. The Cathedral is silhouetted on the ridge, but the tree steals the show. The Autumn colours are still hanging in there.

johnloguk > 14.11.09 - Look Up

I've taken so many photos from this viewpoint, but this is the first time I've turned the camera on it's side and included the sky in the shot! I was taking photos up round the Castle and Cathedral this evening, trying to find a different perspective, then I noticed the sky. The clouds were moving across like smoke, lit by the floodlights and the trees were swaying overhead. People were all wrapped up against the wind and were shuffling along without taking notice of their surroundings. I think I was the only person who noticed the clouds!
johnloguk > 2.11.09 - Shadowlands

This just seems to sum up my life at the moment, it has been a very strange day. Very little went right apart from the weather, and even that turned nasty this evening. But tomorrow is another day.
johnloguk > 26.9.09 - September Afternoon

As promised there are no more scary mountain shots now, this one was taken this afternoon in The Arboretum, a Victorian Park near home. The weather was stunning, and there were even a few bare chests around, but if you want to see them you'll have to visit the gallery here; http://www.lightanddreamsphotography.com/Nature/SEPTEMBER-IN-THE-ARBORETUM/9762105_3ik9s#661534401_r2RQU

The Autumn colours are just starting to assert themselves, but I thought this candid shot of some kids chatting in the old bandstand was a bit different to my usual fare.
johnloguk > 8.9.09 - Me, the Tree and the Golden Hour

Summer returned for a last hurrah today, with temperatures approaching 80F. As I was heading home this evening I noticed that the light was looking special, so I took a detour out of town to take some pics. I chose this as my Daily, but I could easily have chosen any of these; http://johnloguk.smugmug.com/gallery/4053630_nJYqk?ref=mf#643305033_QKjnn

or these; http://johnloguk.smugmug.com/gallery/4328734_9ZqLR?ref=mf#643293458_AAr95

There have been more problems with Smugmug this evening, and it has taken over 3 hours to upload just 6 photos. It is now 00.25am so I'm off to bed!
johnloguk > 10.4.09 - "The Ladye"

Time for another photo from the Lady of Shalott project http://www.theladyofshalott.co.uk/index.html The film will be launched next month, but more imagery has been released recently so this isn't giving any secrets away now. This shot is from the first shoot I was involved in, back in September 2008. It was taken in Hartsholme Park at dusk, in an attempt to recreate a famous painting of The Lady, hence the treatment of this image. I have to admit that of all the tens of thousands of photos that I've taken this is one of my all time favourites. I love the dreamlike quality of it, and the simple fact that it is nothing like anything I've ever done before, and it was also a huge challenge to shoot at the time. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do :)

I've been insanely busy the last couple of days so haven't been on the Dailies, but I'll try and catch up over the weekend, have a great Easter everyone!
johnloguk > 19.1.09 - Timeless

This is another shot from my walk yesterday, but I was so pleased with the sepia conversion that I had to share it with you in this format. I just love the old tree, I bet it could tell some tales. If you follow the Google Maps feature you will see a very detailed aerial photo, which shows the earthworks of the old mediaeval village around the church.

johnloguk > 25.12.08 - Pure Joy

Yesterday was my big family Christmas thing, loads of food, presents, great evening spent with friends. This morning was finishing the washing up, then a wonderful long run, only saw 2 people in an hour. Lunch was cold duck from yesterday, chips and peas, followed by cheesecake. Afternoon was spent fielding emails, texts and phone calls. Then this evening was spent drinking beers infront of the TV. Doctor Who, followed by a brilliant brand new Wallace and Grommit, then a documentary on Blackadder, perfect! I'm feeling rather "mellow" now, and I hope you're all having a great time. Well it looks like you are from your Dailies!
johnloguk > 19.12.08 - All we need now is snow!

I worked a 12 hour day today, my first in a very long time, but all part of my strategy to keep Christmas completely clear. I'm worried that I'm getting in a rut now that the guys at "Dinos" recognise me and cook me a Chilli Burger and chips without me having to say a word. That is becoming a Friday ritual now, as I'm usually way too tired to cook when I get home.

I'm not sure why I decided to start wrapping presents at 10pm this evening instead of checking the Dailies, and the next thing I knew it was gone midnight and I'd not taken a photo, let alone posted my own Daily. I took this with the camera balanced on the back of a chair, no prep, no thought, balance/point/shoot then a slight crop in PP. It looks like Christmas :)

Now please forgive me, but I'm off to bed zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
