09.08.12 - A Symphony in Beige
This is my first post in over a week, I had a lot of soul searching to do about continuing to take a photo every day. I'm well into my 5th year now, it has been difficult at times, great fun at others, and my photography has improved beyond measure during this time. Everyone who tries to take a pic a day knows how tough it is, how it can become a big chore, but also how rewarding it can be. So when I found myself seriously thinking that I'd had enough I needed to stop and think long and hard.
The main Smugmug Daily community has some great photographers and some wonderful people, after all it is where most of us here "met". I've made some great friends there, real lasting friendships, despite most of them being only "virtual". But there have always been a small number of people who have driven me mad! The thumbs up/downers, those with imaginary friends boosting their photos, feigned hurt and innocence. The people who only ever comment on your photos if you comment on theirs, and the political views that I struggle not to challenge. Frankly, last week I had had enough.
Anyway, I am going to try and post regularly to this community, and in the way that I originally intended. I probably won't post every day, only if I think I have something different or artistically worthy of posting. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the friendship and support of you guys!
