johnloguk > 27.2.09 - It's a Collage Jim, but not as we know it :)

This is a cheat today I'm afraid. Friday is always a bad day for me posting on the Dailies, so here is one I prepared earlier. This is the Red Arrows, the RAF aerobatic display team, and they are based less than 5 miles from me at Scampton, home of "The Dambusters" and all that. I've loved these guys since I was a kid, dreaming of being able to fly and going to Air Shows. These shots are all of them practicing, some days I can even see them out of my windows at home, who needs to pay big money to go to an airshow when you can watch for free :)

If you want to see a full display there is a wonderful video here on Youtube of a show they did over New York harbour last Summer. It is 23 minutes long, but there is a bit at 11.30 where they do a move that will make you gasp., enjoy!

Some of you have asked how to make these collages. There is no great skill, I just use a photo layout in Elements, all I do is drag the photos into place.
johnloguk > 14.2.09 - All You Need is Love!

The Red Arrows doing their thing above Lincoln yesterday afternoon, you gotta love those guys. If I wasn't a member of the Dailies I would almost certainly not had my camera with me to capture this, have a great weekend everyone :)
johnloguk > Red Arrow coming in to land. I'm lucky to live so close that I can see these guys practising and get out there with my camera. I was right under their flight path as they came in to land.
johnloguk > Red Arrows at speed. Today it was very windy so not ideal conditions for the whole of the team to practice. Instead the 2 "singletons" were out having fun.
johnloguk > Red Arrows high speed cross. I just missed this because they were so low and came in just above the trees. The shot isn't great, but their skill is immense. They crossed at high speed, then pulled up into a climb and crossed again at the top, leaving a perfect smoke heart in the sky!
