johnloguk > 29.11.09 - Lakeside We had some beautiful weather today, so I went for a short walk in between all the sport on the TV :) This was taken at Riseholme Hall, a couple of miles north of Lincoln. johnloguk > 16.11.09 - Big Blue This is another shot from my walk round Whisby Nature Park yesterday afternoon. I gave you a view of the small things yesterday, so here is the bigger picture, it was such a beautiful day. We had a glorious sunset this evening, with a full arch double rainbow in the sky at the same time. But sadly I was stuck in the middle of a housing estate, and although I tried there was no way I could capture either successfully. I'm really struggling to comment on the Dailies at the moment, partly through being busy, but also because I'm having problems with Smugmug logging me out every time I change pages again. This is a shame because the quality of pics on the Dailies has been fantastic lately.
johnloguk > 30.11.08 - Peace and Contemplation This image was left over from a couple of days ago when I did the misty collage. I always felt that I could do something else with this, and in the end this is just a sepia photo filter, but it conveys the feelings I wanted to get across, so I'm really happy with it. At the time I sloppily let the back of my car intrude into the photo, so that was cloned out. But otherwise it is just a B&W conversion, an adjustment of contrast and the sepia filter. I love these misty days with the sun trying to break through, and the stark silhouettes of the trees, mind you, it was bloody cold :) There is an alternative treatment here which emphasises the cold a bit more; http://johnloguk.smugmug.com/gallery/4328734_9ZqLR#427338235_SzU46 For those of you that asked about my curry night, it was a lot of fun. I love cooking, especially Indian food, and this was a chance to show off a bit with friends. They brought liquid refreshment, I did the food, and we all got totally stuffed! I'm now eating the leftovers, which are even tastier than last night :)

johnloguk > 18.11.08 - Beautiful November Who said that November was a miserable wet grey month? Oh yes, it was me :) Today has been magical, the light was as good as any day I can remember, ever. Low angled, pure, sharp, clean, fresh, you get the picture? These images were taken while I was having lunch in a small park near home. I couldn't decide which to use as my Daily, so did this collage instead.
