21.05.15 - Photo Walk
These are just a few shots from my guided photo walk on Wednesday evening, it took me most of yesterday to finish processing all the shots! This was one of the best photo walks we've ever had, so much done and seen. We started off at the new tank memorial that featured yesterday as my Daily. Then we walked through the nearby university campus and out of the city along the Roman canal of Foss Dyke. There is a whole different world along there, a community living in old boats of all shapes and sizes. Then we visited an old waterboard pumping station, now derelict and the domain of graffiti artists, with Mother Nature slowly reclaiming it. We also visited the nature reserve of Boultham Mere with it's colony of rare and endangered water violets, possibly my favourite wildflower. We photographed the sunset from the Main Drain, one of a complex network of flood defences around the city, before walking back into town as darkness fell. It was meant to take 2 hours but was nearer to 3 by the time we finished!
