07.12.10 - Mother Nature's Jewels
Today started off like yesterday, bitterly cold but clear blue skies. Then after lunch freezing fog drifted in, just as I was setting off to walk to an appointment in town! As I cut through the Nature Reserve the sun intermittently broke through the fog, setting off sparkles in the snow. I noticed that the snow had changed significantly from the fine powder of a few days ago. Now there was a surface layer of hoar frost crystals that gave off a spectacular light show. The colours changed depending on the amount of sun getting through and the direction of sight. The more golden tones are looking into the sun, the bluey ones away from the sun.
Yesterday I was worried that I was running out of ways to shoot the snow, but now I'm struggling to choose just one Daily :) - Light and Dreams Photography
I am continuing this Daily Project into a third year as best I can. It is my intention to shoot and post every day when possible, but please forgive me if I have to raid the archives or even miss the odd day here and there. Some days might be just quick snapshots, others may have some pretensions towards art. I intend to try new things, exploring new areas and pushing my photographic comfort zone ever further. Constructive criticism is always welcome of course, and I will try to reciprocate when time allows.
As usual I will enable Google Earth, so that if you click on the "map this" button above the image you can see where the photographs were taken.
