DailyPhotos > John Bennett  > Photography > DAILY PHOTOS SECOND YEAR
My second year on the Dailies started on 1.2.09, if it is half as much fun as the first year then it will be worth doing. I will always try to take a photo every day, but there will be times when that isn't possible, so I might have to take the odd trip into the archives. I will also try and remember to map each photo, so if you want to see where an image comes from then use the "map this" feature.

My first year gallery can be seen here; http://johnloguk.smugmug.com/gallery/4267920_D7nBU#464890638_SBztm

6.10.09 - Near Miss

This was taken about an hour ago. I'd run out of tea and decided to go down to the shops. I thought I was going to get very wet at one point, but this nasty looking cloud drifted on by without dropping it's load on us. I took three quick shots and this is the one that showed the cloud best. We had our first rain for ages this morning, but it didn't amount to much, and this afternoon was really mild. Tomorrow is forecast to be wetter, so we'll see if our Indian Summer is over or not.
5.10.09 - Nature's Pastels

No ghosts today, just something from Mother Nature's palette. After work I took a quick walk round the old quarry. At first I didn't see much, but after a few minutes my eyes started to focus in on some wonderful back lighting effects. The sun was low in the sky, and some sweet lighting soon developed. I love this time of year for the colours in the foliage, and the lower angle of the sun that gives a softer light. This image looks highly processed, but is almost straight out of camera. I had a terrible job choosing a Daily from the shots I took, and if you want to see the contenders go here; http://www.lightanddreamsphotography.com/Nature/GREETWELL-QUARRY-LINCOLN-UK/5158709_C4LBj#671505267_4oVod
4.10.09 - Woooooooooooooooooooooooooo

More ghostly goings on in the "ghost corridor". I think yesterday's ghost pic had a romantic feel to it, so I tried for a more Gothic feel to this one. I promise to do something different tomorrow :)
3.10.09 - Ghost in the Machine

Ghostly goings on at Gainsborough Old Hall. I've had this idea ever since I found out that this was called the "ghost corridor", so while I was trapped inside the PC I thought I'd have a go at creating this. It is the first time I've experimented with layers in this way, maybe I should have made Lydia even more transparent, but hey I'm sure I'll try this again.

Those of you that haven't already seen my gallery of the Hall might want to check this out; http://www.lightanddreamsphotography.com/History/GAINSBOROUGH-OLD-HALL/9662694_gb4gb#652216254_Fyruu

Thanks for the wonderful response to my silly SP yesterday, it was a lot of fun making that :)
2.10.09 - Trapped

This is an automated message. Apparently John has been spending too much time on the computer lately and the idiot has got himself trapped inside it!
1.10.09 - September

The series continues, not far to go now, can't believe it is October already!
30.9.09 - Race You Dad!

After spending Sunday in the South of the County for the Tourist Board, today I was in the North. I had a great session inside Gainsborough Old Hall, the beautiful medieval building that featured as my Daily on 20.9.09. I've added the interior shots to the gallery here http://www.lightanddreamsphotography.com/History/GAINSBOROUGH-OLD-HALL/9662694_gb4gb#666182772_jCNda

I thought my Daily would come out of those images, but at the last minute I chose this one for the human interest and fun. It was taken in the small market town of Brigg.
29.9.09 - Wild Sky

This was last night, not long after I posted the collage as my Daily. Skies like this normally appear after a storm, but this one came as dreary grey clouds simply broke up at sunset. I was on my way to see a customer and pulled over to take a couple of quick shots before the colours disappeared.

I've not taken any photos today, it has been so manic that I didn't eat anything until 4pm!
28.9.09 - South Lincolnshire

This is a collection of shots from my commission in the South of the County yesterday. It is an area of flat lands, big skies, windmills, country pubs and quiet waterways. I couldn't choose a single shot to represent the place, so you get nine. I still haven't finished putting the gallery together, but you'll be the first to know when I do :)
