This is now my 5th year of shooting a photo a day and posting to this wonderful community. I don't always manage to take something new every single day, but I do try very hard and occasionally my Daily post will be a bit mundane. But such is life, lots of ups and downs, but mainly mundane. I am always my harshest critic, but serious constructive criticism from the viewer is always welcome. I have over 20,000 photos on this website now and would be very honoured if you spent time exploring them too.
Sadly Smugmug no longer uses Google maps, so I am not able to locate my images as accurately as I would like. Older images can still be seen on low resolution maps by clicking on the "map this" feature, but I haven't located newer images as the map quality is so poor.
28.01.13 - Happy Memories
I'm currently suffering some sort of post snow depression, so I've been working on the snowy pics from the last couple of weeks to cheer myself up. This is actually the left hand image from the 3 shot photomerge panorama that I used for my daily on 14.01.13, with the Monday Morning filter from Color Efex Pro added. I used this filter to great effect on some images last week, so I was keen to see how it worked on a few more. I never cease to be amazed at how filters work well with some images and not others. I like the painterly high contrast result with this image, and the details in the trees, but other images were either washed out or unbalanced in some way.
This must be seen as large as possible to appreciate the details.
Here is another image that I've been working on;
