I've been taking a photo every day for almost five years and posting to the main Smugmug Daily Community. That has got very large and impersonal, making it difficult to do justice to every wonderful photographer there. So I joined the alternative Daily Post Community as well, to get back some of the more personal feedback that can be missing from the bigger group. I've now been here well over a year, and loving every minute :)

20.02.13 - At Peace

Another sunset shot from Tuesday down by the river, I just didn't get out with the camera yesterday.

19.02.13 - Flood Plain

We awoke to freezing fog, but once that cleared we had a beautiful cloudless sunny day. There were no clouds to give a spectacular sunset, but the flooded fields beyond the river gave a nice reflection of the setting sun. This time last year the ground was parched and cracked after the driest 15 months on record. Little did we know that the next 12 months would be the wettest on record!

18.02.13 - Poolside

Despite a cool breeze there was a distinct feeling of Spring in the air yesterday. We're still a long way from seeing leaves on the trees, but the days are getting longer and the swans are getting frisky :)

This is a 2 shot photomerge panorama of Brayford Pool in the centre of Lincoln. The university campus is on the left, with the multiplex cinema, hotels and bars on the right.

17.02.13 - As The Crow Flies

This is a montage of shots of the same bird as it flew over me yesterday while I was out with the dog. I'd rather it had been an eagle or something bright and colourful, but a crow will do for today :)

16.02.13 - Golden Hour

My favourite time for walking the dog! We have two basic choices from home, head west for the river or east across the fields and up the hill. Yesterday was the turn of the hill :)

15.02.13 - Walking the Dog

Down by the river walking the dog at dusk yesterday. It is common to see other people and their dogs on the opposite bank, ocassionally they get in just the right place for a silhouette!

14.02.13 - Mouldy Old Tree Stump!

Some fascinating fungus on an old tree stump just as the snow started to fall on Wednesday. This was taken about 50 yards from the snowdrops that featured yesterday. The snow didn't even last overnight by the way, but today has dawned bright and frosty, my favourite kind of morning :)

13.02.13 - Snowdrops

Snowdrops on the forest floor in Hartsholme Park. Actual snow had just started to fall, but I couldn't hand around to wait for more snowy shots here because I had lots of things to do. Within an hour or so we had total snow cover, but by mid evening it had turned to rain and was disappearing rapidly :(
